Our Story

Big-time service with a small-town feel.

In 2007, a small group of investors realized mid-sized Nashville businesses needed a bank with better technology and more personalized service. They needed skilled bankers who cared about their success and growth and took the time to listen.

CapStar Bank began here.

With over $88 million in fundraising, more than any other new bank in Tennessee history, CapStar opened its doors to Nashville on July 14, 2008.

CapStar grew faster than any other Tennessee bank during that time, despite opening in a year of economic uncertainty. By 2012 it surpassed $1 billion in assets and expanded its footprint to Sumner County. Fast forward to 2014 and Farmington Mortgage was born, a division focused on personal home mortgages.

Leading in high-tech and high-touch.

Ranked as one of the top ten healthiest banks in Tennessee, CapStar serves mid-sized companies, their executives and their employees. Our bankers specialize in Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Commercial and Industrial Banking, and Private Reserve Banking.

As our customers grow into major business players, we continue to grow with them in service and technology.

“We really look forward to riding the wave of innovation and energy that seems to be propelling Nashville forward these days,” says Claire Tucker, president and CEO. “It's very exciting to see our original plan validated as we have grown.”
