 President and Chief Executive Officer
Claire W. Tucker serves as CapStar’s President and Chief Executive Officer. After raising more than $88 million in start-up capital, a record for a de novo bank in Tennessee, Claire oversaw the founding of CapStar in July, 2008 and has built it into a billion-dollar financial institution.
Claire started her banking career in 1975 at First American National Bank and had advanced to holding the office of president of corporate banking by 1996. When the bank was sold to AmSouth in 1999, she was senior executive VP responsible for all commercial banking activities in six southeastern states and New York.
In 2011, Claire was appointed by the Federal Reserve Bank for the Sixth District to a three-year term as chairman of the Sixth Federal Reserve District Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council (CDIAC). Each Federal Reserve District has established a CDIAC to systematically include the views of community depository institutions in the policymaking process. The CDIAC meets semi-annually with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Board.
Claire is a board member of Ingram Entertainment and has been a member of the executive committee since its founding in 1997. She is chairman of the board of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) and has chaired the boards of the Nashville Ballet, Nashville’s Table, St. Luke’s Community House and others. A member of the Leadership Nashville class of 1996, she is a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College, the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University and Tennessee State University.
