About CapStar>History

CapStar Bank is proud to have deep roots in Nashville. In fact, our roots go back to 1883, when the predecessor to First American opened its first office in Nashville. The name “CapStar” is actually a tribute to our home city, with the “Cap” standing for Nashville as the capital city of Tennessee and the “Star” referencing the three stars in the Tennessee state flag.

Now, more than a hundred years later, we still reflect proudly on these roots, but are more focused on what lies ahead. We are on a mission to change the way our customers think about banking.

Come in and have a conversation with a CapStar banker. We’d love to tell you more.
